My little sister loves watching TV. Except when she takes a shower, goes out with her friends or family, she always watches TV. Her favorite program is movie or sit com;It means “situation comedy”. All I can see is that she is watching TV ‘Hannah Montana’. Actually, she likes Hannah Montana. When Music program was providing Hannah singing, she stood up and copied Hannah’s dancing! And Hannah’s new song is ‘We could be the one.’ She is good at singing along with Hannah. Now, you can notice two things easily. First. Hannah Montana is a popular star in America among teenagers. Second, most chance for them to meet TV star such as Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers, who are also popular band which is composed of real brothers, is On TV!!!!
It’s very similar to Korea.
But there is one interesting thing in America. There is a channel especially for teenagers and children. I guess it is good for education. What if programs are not separated by ages? Teens and children who are growing now would learn such bad things as smoking, drug, sex. But in Korea, it is a problem. The program about sex or smoking have been prohibited already, but violent scenes are the problem now. Anyway, TV can be the route to learn those things either in America or in Korea.
And also contradiction is on TV. Between things on TV and real things is a contradiction. And some teenagers are confused about that. And they finally happen to think that scenes on TV are real ,and deny their circumstances. Then, they can’t adjust their fast-changing world during their childhood. In fact, I’m so worried about my host sister Shelly. She wants to be a movie star. I’m sure that she is pretty and confident about herself, which is a most important qualification for a movie star. But it can’t be easy course to be a star. There are hidden things behind the entertainment world she can’t see. It is this fact that I’m worried about her. However, most movies tell a story about people who have big luck casually. If teenagers, especially my host sister, watch and watch such that movie, they would believe that will happen to them.
Eventually, TV keep them from facing real world. This problem is not limited to America or Korea, and to adult. We have to be equipped with the ability to catch the contradiction, and producers over the world have to make sure they are responsible for their audiences.

It’s true that TV is sometimes a serious problem. Sometimes it’s lucky that we’re separated from watching TV in our school. But I think American TV is less interesting than Korean one. Ha. I enjoyed your article.
You had a wonderful time with your host family. I can tell you learned a lot.
